Water leak detectors protect you when you are on vacation, away for the day or the property is unoccupied. These devices give an early warning alert and monitor your home and property against leaks or broken sump pumps, pipes, water heaters, hoses or sinks.
The modern monitors, like those by La Crosse Technology, allow you to use a smart phone, tablet or computer to remotely monitor wetness, temperature and humidity levels that will affect your home.
The system uses a wireless sensor to measure the ambient temperature and humidity, and a water probe that detects water. It will send a notice by e-mail or text to notify you of temperature and humidity readings outside of your parameters, or when the water probe detects water. It also alerts you if there is a connection loss or low battery charge.
