In spite of New Delhi’s pollution crisis, a car rationing scheme in the smog-hit capital has been dropped after a challenge from the national environmental court, the National Green Tribunal.
The Indian government had planned to bring in car rationing from Monday, exempting women for their safety.
The tribunal had protested the exemption of women, arguing that rationing had to be applied across the board in order for it to work.
The smog's been so bad that schools have been closed this week.
