Dennis has been asked about issues diagnosing VVT problems in an international customer's Toyota 86.

“I bought your amazing Rocker Arm Retaining Kit from you in April. (No problems with that.) Our Car is finally out of the shop and drivable, but, I do have problems with my VVT no longer activating after my engine repairs, which previously had an EKUTEC Tune Flashed to accommodate my ACE-A350 Headers, etc…

I’ve tried many, many times to clutch brake and other various driving methods to activate the VVT. Still shows zero, and I have a bit less low/mid power than stock!?! NOTE: No Error Codes thrown yet!

I’ve also replaced all four Cam Actuators, and all four Cam Sensors. Re-flashed the ECM, ran the activation rituals 3-4 times after each. VVT still shows zero. Still, No Error Codes thrown yet!?!”
