The importance of "joining with another" is the Courses' unique pathway to accepting the atonement, and awakening from the ego's nightmare dreams. And yet, the Course also teaches that our sole responsibility is to accept the atonement for ourselves. This seeming paradox is raised by a student's question, and Kenneth's answer, pointing out the Course's deeper meaning of both ideas, shows that, in the end, no paradox exists.
