I've been wanting a model of the LNER A4 Sir Nigel Gresley for a while now so when Hornby announced they would be bringing back The Great Gathering collection of all the preserved A4's I absolutely jumped at the opportunity. Having been released 10 years on from the original celebration, this time the models are part of the Hornby Dublo range - a premium set of limited edition models featuring a die cast metal body and special commemorative packaging.

That's not all though, these new LNER A4s have a few extra tricks up their sleeve like the new 21 Pin decoder socket, firebox LED, tender plug connection and even new front coupling solution.

So join me as we take a look at the this special limited edition of Sir Nigel Gresley and make a welcome return to Pitley (aka the Modular Model Railway) as we get it running for the very first time!
