Afghan children bear a heavy burden in the long conflict but can the international powers do anything about it? Civilian casualties in Afghanistan hit a record high in the first half of 2016. A report released by the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan says one-third of casualties between January and June were children, with 388 killed and 1,121 wounded. This count was 18 percent up year on year. We take a look at why Afghanistan is on everyone's mind.
