Automotive manufacturing companies operating in South Africa will be forced to change their business models to meet European Union demands.
The E.U. announced that it would ban the imports of vehicles with combustion engines by 2030 and the sales of these cars by 2035.
This will affect one of the biggest employers in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro, Volkswagen South Africa, with its plant based in Kariega.
But despite the looming changes, the parent company still sees its South African operations as a vital cog in its plans.
