Raised stencils can add a pop of texture to an otherwise flat piece, which is why we wanted to show you how to add a raised stencil to a piece of furniture. However, we went a little different route than most and did a tone-on-tone (or color-on-color) stencil so you could see the graphic from certain angles, but it wouldn’t scream at you. This resulted in an elegant and understated addition to a piece of furniture that would have otherwise been too kitschy if it were done in a contrasting color.
We made the stencil using the Cricut Maker, Oracal 813 stencil vinyl and a few other materials, which are all listed below.
