STORYLINE
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met his Indian counterpart on Wednesday and received a ceremonial reception at the presidential palace in New Delhi.
Yudhoyono was also welcomed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and various other top-ranking Indian officials.
The Indonesian leader said his country was looking forward to strengthening bilateral ties with India.
"I believe this visit will mark another milestone of our future bilateral cooperation and partnerships," Yudhoyono said.
Later in the day, the president paid homage to Indian independence leader Mohandas Gandhi, placing a wreath at the Gandhi memorial in New Delhi.
The memorial was constructed near the site of Gandhi's cremation in 1948.
Yudhoyono was due to hold talks with Singh later on Wednesday .
The president visited Bangalore, India's technology hub, in southern India on Monday.
