The Leicester Comedy Festival started life as an idea had by Arts and Festivals Management student Geoff Rowe when he was studying at DMU back in 1992. From the very first moments, then, the university was involved in supporting the festival and over the past 30 years, has played a key role in the event as it has grown into one of the country’s biggest comedy celebrations, helping to launch the careers of some of the biggest names in entertainment.
As the festival celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, we invited DMU alumnus and stand up comic Jack Campbell to meet some of those at DMU who have helped keep the partnership strong, offering hundreds of students gain priceless experience in running festival events over the years.
Jack took the assignment as seriously as you’d expect.
