We're squid fishing Yorke Peninsula at Stansbury Jetty. We had an amazing session squid fishing (eging) and a surprise wildlife encounter with some seals. It has been many years since I had fished on Stansbury Jetty on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. From start to finish the squid kept us entertained.

We caught a great feed of squid. We also tried some soft plastics and caught some flathead in the shallows. One of the highlights while squid fishing at Stansbury Jetty was the wildlife encounter with the resident playful seals at the end of the boat ramp breakwater. They were very placid and unexpected. A truly amazing seal encounter. Seeing wildlife like seals in person and up so close was just amazing. I've seen plenty of seals from a distance but never up close like that.

I haven't had much experience fishing Stansbury Jetty so I am keen to hear what other species I could target there or other success you have had eging, suidding, or fishing there or other fishing locations on the Yorke Peninsula nearby. I do love eging and fishing on the Yorke Peninsula but I am keen to expand my strategies and look at other squidding and fishing spots to try.

I tried a new strategy suggested to me in using S Factor scent on my Inku Squid Tackle jigs and I thought it really improved hook-up rate from the session with the amount of squid I caught.
