Heavy rains pouring on Madrid caused flooding Thursday morning in some metro stations and interrupted commuters in the Spanish capital.
Metro users posted videos to social media showing flooded subway tracks as well as other parts of the Noviciado station partially submerged in water.
At least five lines and several stations were affected according to Madrid Metro, which was progressively resuming its service after the water was drained.
According to the Spanish weather agency, rains caused an accumulation of 17-19 liters per square meter.
