A Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy officer has been shot dead and two California Highway Patrol officers injured in a shooting in California. The shooting took place Wednesday at a Sacramento hotel, which authorities believe to be the headquarters of a car theft ring. 52-year-old Robert French died around 12pm PST after being shot at a Ramada Inn.
