(3 Jul 2018) Hundreds of supporters turned out as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan launched his election campaign in Pakistan's commercial capital Karachi on Tuesday.
The environment was festive despite Khan's arrival being delayed due to bad weather.
A large number of women also turned up for the gathering in Karachi's NA-243 constituency, one of the five national assembly seats that he is contesting across Pakistan.
"Pakistan will change its fate on the 25th of July," Khan told the cheering crowd and he vowed to solve Karachi's problems.
Khan will spend two days touring Karachi as part of his election campaign.
He is also campaigning for National Assembly seats from Islamabad, Mianwali, Bannu and Lahore.
The July 25 elections for seats in the National Assembly and four provincial legislatures will be supervised by the interim government of caretaker Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk, a former chief justice who has said he will ensure free and fair elections.
The party that wins a majority in parliament will name the next prime minister.
