Maria la Gorda is a diving center and a perfect location for trips to the
national parc Guanahacabibes. The hotel has a beautiful white sandy beach with palmtrees looming over the colourfull sea. There are lots of diving locations and snorkel possibillities. The food (breakfastbuffet and dinnerbuffet) is good and not expensive.
The road from Pinar del Rio to Maria la Gorda is o.k. and offers lots of nice views on the landcape. There are many hungry sandflees in the area so don't forget lots and lots of insect repellant. The only way to escape the sandflees is the sea or a divingsuit.
