How to open swing style check valve and inspect the parts. This video shows how to remove the swing valve from the housing on a brass 1-1/4" valve. This valve was leaking and causing the pump to cycle. In this case, the mating surfaces of the valve and the "flapper" had some pitting. There was also discoloration on flapper showing where the water was leaking.
