An anti-encroachment drive to free around 77 acre of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) land in Kundi has begun after the Supreme Court order. As per reports, there are 250 shanties here where people have been living since 1980s. There, also, are around 50 shops of daily needs and scrap that are to be demolished. About 200 police personnel have been deployed at the site for the drive. The action is being taken after the authority has won a legal battle in the supreme court against the illegal encroachment of the land.
