In Kajang, Selangor the Sessions Court fined Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia or Isma president Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman RM2,000 for sedition.
This over his remarks in a 2014 article labelling the ethnic Chinese as “intruders” in Malaysia.
Judge Noridah Adam delivered the decision after finding the prosecutor had succeeded in proving a prima facie case against Abdullah Zaik.
In May, the Isma president was acquitted over his principal sedition charge of uttering seditious words but was told to defend himself on an alternative charge under Section 41c of the Sedition Act.
The court ordered Abdullah Zaik to pay the fine or serve two years in prison if he failed to do so.
He was charged with committing the offence at Isma headquarters in Bangi on May 6th, 2014.
