The French MAS-49/56 battle rifle can be a huge safety hazard. These 7.5x54mm chambered military surplus firearms are well known for Slamfire issues. The difference between modern ammunition and the ammo this rifle was originally designed for is the main cause of this problem. Original French Ammo had hard primers but our modern cartridges have much lighter primers. My example is a refurbished B-Grade from Royal Tiger Imports. This RTI gun is worn but all MAS 49-56 rifles can suffer the same issue.
