Whilst Harriet Ross grew up on a farm, her husband Ben Lowe took five attempts to enter the industry before taking on a 5-year SLDT on a 400 acre arable farm in Aberdeenshire together in 2019. Since then they have grown the business such that HB Farms now operates over 1,000 acres and includes a breeder-finisher pig herd, arable, and diversified interests in horses and solar panel rental. In this video, they share their experience of gaining a tenancy as new entrants and top tips for aspiring new entrants.
