Shabab Al-Ahli moved to within four points of UAE Pro League leaders Sharjah with a game in hand on Tuesday, with a 3-0 win over defending champions Al Wasl in Dubai.
Four days after beating Al Wasl on penalties to win the UAE Super Cup for a record seventh time, first half goals from Mu'nas Dabbur and Guilherme Bala put Paulo Sousa’s side in control and Saeed Ezatolahi put the icing on the cake in stoppage time at the end of the match to complete a comfortable victory.
Unbeaten Shabab Al-Ahli now have 23 points from nine games, with Sharjah on 27 from ten.
Al Wasl remain 8th in the table on 13 points.
