Herve Ladsous met several Central African authorities. On the third day of his visit in the Central African Republic this Monday, September 7, 2015, the Under Secretary General of the United Nations in charge of peacekeeping operations, Herve Ladsous met different authorities of the Central African Republic among them, Prime Minister Mahamat Kamoun, the Chairman of the National Transitional Council, Ferdinand Nguendet, President of the Constitutional Court, State Minister in Charge of National Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Herve Ladsous was accompanied by Special Representative of the United Nations in the Central African Republic and Head of MINUSCA, Perfect Onanga- Anyanga; the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General knew the United Nations and Deputy Head of MINUSCA Diane Corner; the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations and Coordinator of the UN System, Aurélien Agbénonci; the Force Commander, General Martin Chomu Tumenta; the Coordinator of field offices, Baboucarr Jagne, the Director of Political Affairs MINUSCA Barrie Freeman and the Chief of Cabinet of the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in the Central African Republic and Head of MINUSCA, Aliou Sene.
Overall, the key issues discussed with these authorities were organized around security , cooperation between national authorities and the MINUSCA and success of the Bangui Forum.
About Bangui Forum, Herve Ladsous expressed satisfaction that some of the recommendations are beginning to be implemented, including the acceptance of refugees vote in the next election and approval of the recent draft Constitution. He enjoyed the respect of the Transition Charter in spite of the difficult security environment prevailing in the country.
Mr. Ladsous has also raised the issue of security, indicating that the armed groups should respect the commitments made at the Forum Bangui to end the war. He noted Bambari populations face threats and abuses by armed groups. And the need for everyone to do their utmost to put an end to this suffering and succeed in the end the challenge of the end of the transition and opening a new page of history for the Central African Republic.
