With this, you don't have to fill out the physical entry/ departure (E.D.) card, also known as the Embarkation/ Disembarkation Card, which will be distributed to you on the plane.

Arrival
Arrived at Narita Airport Terminal 1. September 2024. 33 °C. It is the second-busiest airport in Japan after Haneda Airport. Opened in 1978, this airport handles most of Tokyo's international air traffic.
We flew with ANA (All Nippon Airways), the largest airline in Japan.
Japan's Narita International Airport is about 72km from Tokyo city centre.
All travelers are no longer required to submit any test or vaccination certificates for Covid-19.

After exiting the aircraft, follow the signs to arrivals.

1:19 - Immigration
It took us about an hour to clear immigration.
Queue in the respective line, such as for visitors, Japanese passports, re-entry permit, etc.
Foreign visitors have to be prepared for long queues at Narita airport passport control. There're only 5 counters opened.

First, your passport, index fingerprints, and facial recognition will be processed at a mobile counter. Then, present your QR code and passport at the immigration counter. The officer will verify if you meet the entry requirements and issue a landing permission sticker in your passport.

Afterward, proceed to baggage claim.

1:55 - Customs
If you are carrying cash or other means of payment exceeding 1 million yen, more than 3 bottles of 760cc Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco Products, medicine, cosmetics exceeding the allowed limit, etc. you are required to declare to Customs.

Next, At the Customs terminal scanner, Passengers must hold their IC passport and the QR code and follow its instructions to complete the customs declaration. You’ll be directed to either
1. The e-Gate, for passengers who have no goods subject to duty and, or tax and goods not prohibited or restricted for import.
or
2. Customs inspection desk for those carrying goods that require declaration.

During this process, facial photos will be taken to verify your identity with the image in your IC passport.
　
The photos are used only for the purposes of identification at the Terminal and facial recognition at the gate, and deleted immediately after passengers pass through the gate.

2:47 - Airport Transport
Bus - You can buy the airport bus ticket at the counter: Limousine bus (¥3,100)

Train
You can buy the train tickets at the counter, from the machine or online

-JR Narita Express (N'EX) - 53 min to Tokyo Station (¥3,070) - Access to Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku and West Tokyo Area

4:55 - Keisei Skyliner
41 min to Ueno Station (¥2,580) - Access to Ueno, Nippori
We booked two Keisei Skyliner reserved seats, side by side with one window seat - to Ueno Station.
Insert the ticket and remember to take it back. You need the ticket to exit.
Check the Train number on the ticket and look for the Track number at the monitor.

There also other train lines with more stops and longer journey at lower price.
