This concert was held at Wesleyan University, Connecticut, USA on December 8th, 1967. Ramnad Krishnan was a sensitive musician who was greatly influenced by Veena Dhanammal Bani & learnt several krtis, javalis & padams from T Brinda, Dhanammal's grand daughter. He was in USA for about 3 months as Professor of Carnatic Music but returned to Madras as he missed the musical ambience of this city. His earlier guru was Ramanathapuram Sankarasiva Bhagavathar, a direct disciple of Harikesanallur Muthaiah Bhagavathar.
Krishnan had struck up friendship with Brindamma's cousins T Ranganathan & T Viswanathan. T Ranganathan was the senior-most disciple of Mahavidwan Pazhani Subramania Pillai who had also played for Ramnad Krishnan & had also mentored him earlier.
In this concert, Krishnan has melodic support from Viswa (Flute) and Thyagarajan (VT) (Violin) & mridangam support from T Ranganathan. Announcements of the programme are made by T Viswanathan.
