This is my instrumental cover version of Daryl Hall & John Oates's 1981 smash hit 'I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)', from their album "Private Eyes' (© RCA Records). The song was composed by Daryl Hall with lyrics by Hall, Oates and Sara Allen. My version was sequenced, recorded and mixed in PreSonus' Studio One 7 Professional DAW, using a Faderport 16 controller. It is the full album version but I have replaced the saxophone solos with an electric guitar.
The following instruments were used in the recording:
- Drums: Roland Jupiter-X CR-78 kit plus a layered TR-808 snare
- Tuned woodblock: Korg Kronos
- Synth bass and all synths: Sequential Prophet-5 Rev 4 (all custom patches)
- Strings: Arturia Solina V
- Rhodes piano (in bridges): Korg Kronos
- Electric guitar in choruses: Fender Stratocaster
- Electric guitar solos: Chibson Les Paul
Effects:
- PreSonus stock effects: ProEQ3 equalizer, Spectrum Meter, Limiter2, Beat Delay
- UAD LA-2A compressor
- YouLean Loudness Meter 2 Free
- Arturia JUN-6 chorus, LX-24 reverbs, Dimension-D chorus, VCA-65 compressor, Tube Culture saturator.
