A delectable Pizzelle with an amazing twist! A delicious crispy Pizzelle flavored with anise and vanilla wrapped around a yummy chocolate Kit Kat wafer and topped with powdered sugar!
RECIPE:
Pizzelles (with or without a Kit Kat inside)
6 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla extract and/or 2 tablespoons anise extract
1 cup butter, melted (do not use more or substitute oil)
4 teaspoons baking powder
Kit Kats if rolling them
Powdered sugar (to sprinkle on top)
Beat eggs, adding sugar gradually. Beat until smooth. Add cooled butter and vanilla and/or anise. Sift flour and baking powder. Blend into egg mixture until smooth. Dough will be sticky enough to be dropped by spoon. Bake in Pizzelle iron. Make approximately 60 pizzelles.
Variations:
Finely chop one cup of walnuts or pecans and blend into Pizzelle dough.
Dip one end of a Pizzelle in melted chocolate and then dip in chopped nuts.
