Sky News host Rita Panahi has hit out at talk show host John Oliver’s “ridiculous” rant about trans athletes competing in women’s sports.
Mr Oliver claimed there is no evidence trans athletes pose “any threat to safety or fairness” to female athletes.
Author JK Rowling posted a lengthy fact-check in response to Mr Oliver where she stated, quoting the UN, that female athletes have lost nearly 900 medals to trans-identified men competing against them in women’s sporting categories.
“It just proves again that the likes of John Oliver are determined to stay ignorant on this issue,” Ms Panahi said.
