India's Supreme Court has allowed the trial of some cases connected with the ethnic violence in Manipur to be held in the neighbouring state of Assam. More than two dozen criminal cases have been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation, including the high-profile assault of two women from the minority Kuki tribe. The Supreme Court has asked the Manipur government to provide proper internet services to allow victims to give their statements through video conferencing.
