Today on Booze On The Rocks, we make the Americano cocktail. In the 1860s, Gaspare Campari's tavern in Milan, Italy, began serving the Americano. This drink is a straightforward riff on the Milano-Torino, which contains Campari and sweet vermouth without water. It comprises equal parts Campari and sweet vermouth and is topped with sparkling water. The area's popularity among American tourists is said to be the source of the name.
