#Musa #Midian #Pharaoh
At around 2 years old Musa returns to the palace of Pharaoh. He no longer was in touch with his family the same way when he was a baby. Pharaoh still just could not stand the baby Musa much. Aasiyah was very much with him and cared for him. He received the best of physical training and education. And is becoming known as prince Musa.
-As he started getting older, he notices the behavior of Pharaoh, supposedly his guardian and caretaker
-How is Pharaoh telling the world that he is God
-He got sick the other day
-He needs to eat and sleep
-He does not appreciate how Pharaoh abuses and oppresses bani Israel
-He comes to also know how Pharaoh hires magicians to do black magic and trick the people
-They utilize sticks and ropes and throw them in front of the people and with the help of jinn present snakes that seem real though it is just an illusion
-Also, as he got older the news eventually got broken down to him through one source or the other
-Pharaoh and Aasiyah are not your real parents
-You are not even an Egyptian or Coptic, you are from Bani Israel
-Your real mother, sister, and brother are so and so
-After all of that, Musa meets with the people of Bani Israel more and more
-He meets his family, sister, and brother Harun
-He learns the deen and how his forefathers are actually prophets
-He learns about Prophet Yusuf and more details about the true religion of Allah
-He feels he needs to do something about what is going on
-Musa is very unhappy about the oppression taken place against Bani Israel
Pharaoh is very much noticing how Musa is not really in support of what Pharaoh does
-No prostration
-Excessive praise
-He spends time outside the place, with bani Israel
-He still cannot stand Musa and would love to get rid of him but the attachment Aasiyah has towards him and his popularity and kindness to those around him may cause a big internal problem…
As Allah says:
[28 : 14]
And when he reached full strength and maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. This is how We reward the good-doers.
[28 : 15]
˹One day˺ he entered the city unnoticed by its people. There he found two men fighting: one of his own people, and the other of his enemies. The man from his people called to him for help against his foe. So Moses punched him, causing his death. Moses cried, “This is from Satan’s handiwork. He is certainly a sworn, misleading enemy.”
[28 : 16]
He pleaded, “My Lord! I have definitely wronged my soul, so forgive me.” So He forgave him, ˹for˺ He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
[28 : 17]
Moses pledged, “My Lord! For all Your favours upon me, I will never side with the wicked.”
[28 : 18]
And so Moses became fearful, watching out in the city, when suddenly the one who sought his help the day before cried out to him again for help. Moses rebuked him, “Indeed, you are clearly a trouble-maker.”
[28 : 19]
Then when Moses was about to lay his hands on their foe, the enemy said, “O Moses! Do you intend to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land. You do not intend to make peace!”
[28 : 20]
And there came a man, rushing from the farthest end of the city. He said, “O Moses! The chiefs are actually conspiring against you to put you to death, so leave ˹the city˺. I really advise you ˹to do so˺.”
[28 : 21]
So Moses left the city in a state of fear and caution, praying, “My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing people.”
[28 : 22]
And as he made his way towards Midian, he said, “I trust my Lord will guide me to the right way.”
[28 : 23]
When he arrived at the well of Midian, he found a group of people watering ˹their herds˺. Apart from them, he noticed two women holding back ˹their herd˺. He asked ˹them˺, “What is the problem?” They replied, “We cannot water ˹our animals˺ until the ˹other˺ shepherds are done, for our father is a very old man.”
[28 : 24]
So he watered ˹their herd˺ for them, then withdrew to the shade and prayed, “My Lord! I am truly in ˹desperate˺ need of whatever provision You may have in store for me.”
