During the height of the pandemic the institutions that were lending were extremely scarce.
The appetite for "non QM" or hard money on the investor side dried up. The market makers that were still out there getting loan requests and the funding sources that were not affected soon found themselves having less places to sell loans, and less people that were able to qualify.
This is the story of two such people who run their entities, a market maker and a Fund manager that met during the worst of times, and made the best of it.
