Penny is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the industry. As Head of Sustainability at Elliott Wood, she currently leads a growing sustainability focused team at Elliott Wood which offers a range of sustainability consultancy services beyond the remit of typical structural and civil engineering. She is a member of the IStructE’s Climate Emergency Task Group helping to deliver the Institution’s response to the climate emergency, including The Structural Carbon Tool. As part of this work, Penny is lead author for a new book providing guidance on Circular Economy & Reuse for structural engineers, due to be published later this year and she is very active in UKGBC research on Circular Economy and reuse of steel in particular.
