MIKE DICKSON IN NEW YORK: Jamie Murray put in a rock solid performance tonight to reach his second Grand Slam final in succession with John Peers. The 30 year-old Scot and his Australian partner John Peers saved a match point in the sudden death tiebreak before beating Americans Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey 6-4 6-7 7-6. Murray now becomes the first British doubles finalist at the US Open since Roger Taylor in 1972 when they face Frenchmen Nicolas Mahut and Pierre Hugues Herbert, who earlier knocked out Britain’s Dom Inglot and Sweden’s Robert Lindstedt 7-5 6-2.
