For the past few weeks we’ve been giving you a behind the scenes look at The Brush Off Project, a juried art exhibition in Montreal that showcases painters from both sides of the border, who compete for awards and recognition, but also help to raise money and awareness for art therapy programs that assist people living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
One of the paintings featured in the most recent competition, was by Carol Loeb, an art instructor at Lower Canada College in Montreal.
The painting that Carol entered in the most recent Brush Off competition, was from a cross-country trip she took with a childhood friend, who is also a painter, to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday in 2017.
Carol's two-year collaboration with Alison Grapes resulted in a book, and drew hundreds to an art gallery in Old Montreal last summer to see an exhibit featuring all 106 of their paintings.
Carol’s paintings, including many from the Trans-Canada 150 collaboration with Alison, will be part of a new exhibition at Gallery 203 in Montreal’s Old Port, in May.
