A massive fire at the Varanasi Cantt railway station destroyed around 200 motorcycles parked at the motorcycle stand behind the GRP office on platform 1. Despite prompt responses from GRP police, RPF personnel, and fire brigade units, only a few motorcycles could be salvaged. Railway employees pointed out the lack of an on-site fire safety unit as a key factor in the damage.
