A man arrested for a Spokane murder more than 40 years ago has been brought back to Spokane to face the charges.
Last fall, Spokane Police announced an arrest in the 1982 murder of Archie Rutherford.
Police say they used DNA to connect Tracy Pruitt to the crime scene.
They also matched Pruitt's fingerprints to prints found in a Honda stolen from Rutherford's home.
Pruitt, who had been on the police department's radar initially, had left the area after the murder.
He was arrested in Ohio just a few months after Rutherford's murder for rape, robbery, kidnapping and assault and served prison time there.
Spokane Police found him living in California where he was under the supervision of the Department of Corrections.
Pruitt was finally extradited to Spokane this week where he faces first degree murder and robbery charges.
He'll face a judge Friday afternoon.
