The lockdown did not prevent Metropole Orkest from going on a world tour in March 2021. Not literally, of course, but in their own studio in Hilversum with Netherlands based musicians. First destination was Brazil. Together with Maria Mendes, Lucas Santana, Gabriel Milliet, Lílian Vieira and conducted by Magnus Lindgren, the orchestra toured through the Metropole archives to pick the most exciting Brazilian music. Compositions by Antônio Carlos Jobim, Pixinguinha, Edu Lobo, Zequinha de Abreu, Chico César and Caetana Veloso.
