(7 Oct 2013) Britain's Prince Harry attended a fundraiser in Dubai on Monday in support of the Sentebale charity he co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
Sentebale aims to support children living with HIV/AIDS in the impoverished Kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa.
Phillip Green, Chairman of Sentebale Charity described the work the Sentebale Charity does in Lesotho.
"It has one of the highest HIV rates in the world. And Sentebale means "forget me not" in the local language of Sutu and it's named in honour of Prince Harry's mother and Prince Sesso's mother and we provide psycho social support to young people with HIV," Green said.
"And we are trying to build a permanent camp for these young people just outside Maseru the capital and tonight he is fundraising for that project," he added.
Prince Harry took part in a dinner as well as a charity auction hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based Al Jalila Foundation.
The foundation was established by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and focuses on supporting medical treatment, education, and research of the UAE population.
Singer Joss Stone was also present at the charity event and was expected to perform later in the evening.
"This one is special (this event) because it came from Harry who I believe is a lovely person and the fact that he keeps going out there is a constant thing its been growing it's not just a one time - I'm going to go out there and show my face and let it be a little bit of a promo thing. It's not like that. It is so, so far from that," she said.
"I was asked to come here and help something beautiful and I was free that day so I said okay, so here I am," she added.
