Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has tendered his resignation amid a government shake-up in Kyiv. Parliamentary Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said lawmakers would discuss Kuleba’s resignation request. This comes after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said changes to the government were being undertaken in order to strengthen it and achieve the country’s goals. Kyiv has seen several government cabinet ministers step down, with the Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Ecology Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Justice Denys Maliuska, and head of the State Property Fund Vitaliy Koval all submitting their resignations. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the head of Ukraine’s state energy company, has also been dismissed. The move was followed by resignations from the company’s advisory board, who called the sacking politically motivated. Sergej Sumlenny, Director of the European Resilience Initiative Center, joined us to discuss these events.
