We initially wanted to buy an argo. We decided to visit Quinn's Marina where we bought our aluminum boat because they had a very slightly used fully loaded argo. However, when we went to see it, we weren't sure if we were really getting a bargain. So we left and decided to sleep on it. Since we were out, my husband and I decided to visit Leatherdale Marine because our good friends told us they had a variety of new off road vehicles in stock.
When we went there, I completely fell in love with the 2023 fully loaded Can am Defender. But the only problem for us was we thought it would be way to wide for many trails we go on. Then we had our eye on a camo coloured 2023 Can Am 1000 XMR Commander which our friends were telling us about. Once I sat inside, I was hooked. So my husband and I worked out some numbers with Bob, the sales guy and we made a deal.
We decided that we would trade in our 2019 Skidoo 900 sport expedition and my husband's 2021 Can Am Outlander Max 850 XT. We decided to keep my 2020 Hisun 750 Tactic because they don't accept that as a trade in and I would barely get much for it even though it is a good vehicle. Although i woukd have much rather kept our Can Am ATV. BUT.... I am glad we kept ONE ATV since the SXS we bought only fits 2 people and our youngest son can still ride with us.
We were so happy when our beast of a vehicle was finally delivered. We had a rear view mirror and sport roof installed as it didn't come with it. We are now waiting for our glass windshield with wipers, a junction box kit and side mirrors. Hopefully it will come soon. Once it arrived, we couldn't wait to test it out.
We took a ride on the roads and a little bit on the trail. As we were riding our gas light came on and we gassed it up with 87 octane grade. Our dealer said it was fine to use regular octane but after we read the manual, it stated we should use a minimum of 91 Octane. so hopefully we didn't do any damage. We also didn't want to push our new vehicle because we have to break in the engine and the belt. Overall, we love the new Commander but we weren't a fan of the location of the cup holders.
