Based on Oscar Hammerstein Jr's lyrics, book and musical of a 1943 World War II era African-Americans, set to music of Georges Bizet's 1875 opera "Carmen" leading to the Golden Globe Award (for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy) winning 1954 American Musical Film "Carmen Jones" (a cast of talents whom became icons and legends), of Love, passion, betrayal and tragedy. A story of a young, free spirited woman Carmen Jones (Dorothy Dandridge) who sets her sights on an young army officer Joe (Harry Belafonte), who is engaged to another women. He succumbs to Carmen's charms, forsaking his fiance, thus beginning the tragic love story.
