In this video I show you a method for doubling numbers that you can use to mentally double any number.
The technique works by breaking down the number into the tens and ones, or for larger numbers into thousands, hundreds, tens and ones and so on depending how large your number is.
For example, to double 348 I would break that down into 300, 40 and 8. I then double each of those to give 600, 80 and 16. The final step is to add those last three numbers together: 600+80+16=696.
That's it! Really straight forward. In future videos I'll look at other techniques that might be quicker and easier in certain situations.
