43102 “The Journey Shrinker” broke the world speed record for a diesel train on the 1st November 1987, when it reached a whopping 148.5MPH, a record which still stands to this day. The locomotive was recently repainted into InterCity swallow livery to mark its retirement which is due to happen in May 2021, after which it will be donated to the national railway museum
