The Icarus Cup is an annual event organised by the British Human Powered Flying Club ([ Ссылка ]) to showcase the latest developments in ultra low-power aircraft.
The event features aircraft designed and built by groups of enthusiasts that include model makers, amateur engineers, professional aerodynamacists, students and even the occasional eccentric individual.
The competition includes a variety of tasks including distance and duration flying, short take-off performance, figure-of-eight and slalom.
This years competition featured aircraft with speeds varying from 8 to 12m/s and weights from 30 to 45kgs.
