First up is the Fractal Audio VP4—a beast of a multi-effects pedal with over 400 effects. It’s the perfect alternative for those who can’t quite stretch to the Axe FX3 but still want top-tier sound processing power. I’ll walk you through the features and why the ability to run four effects simultaneously might not be as groundbreaking as advertised.

Next, we dive into the Friedman IRJ preamp. This tube-powered monster brings a rich blend of British plexi tones with a touch of modern crunch, perfect for all-out high-gain riffs. With its low-latency cab sim and Friedman IRs, it’s an absolute powerhouse for studio and live settings. I’ll explain why the tone on this thing is seriously impressive!
