Plans have been strengthened to ensure Singapore is on track to achieve its long-term vision of a clean and green transport system. Strategies for more sustainable land, air and sea transport sectors are full steam ahead. All vehicles on roads will run on cleaner energy by 2040. Meanwhile, Singapore will contribute towards the sustainability goals set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. The aim is to improve fuel efficiency by 2% each year and achieve carbon neutral growth starting 2020. At the same time, a Maritime Singapore Decarbonisation Blueprint will be launched in 2021 to chart long-term maritime sustainability over the next three decades.
