South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes recently visited the Goa State Co-operative Bank in Quepem and insisted that the bank pay the pension to Bhagirathi at her house in Carla, Sanguem. Irrespective of the rules, Fernandes told the branch manager to disburse the pension at her home. The branch manager cited a circular as the reason for the hold-up. Fernandes also told the Manager to inquire about others in the village who were not receiving pension. In response, the manager assured the MP that he would make every effort to ensure the pension is provided to her as quickly as possible.
