Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma welcomed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday in the capital city Freetown.
Koroma said Sierra Leone owes its achievement in combating Ebola to China's quick response and pragmatic help.
It proves again that China and Sierra Leone are two brothers, he said, adding Sierra Leone really appreciates the help provided by the Chinese government and people.
The president hoped his country would continue to have China's strong support in rebuilding the social and economic status in the post-Ebola period.
Wang congratulated Sierra Leone's victory in fighting against Ebola virus, under the guide of president Koroma, believing that Sierra Leone would soon wipe out the epidemic.
Wang continued that China and Sierra Leone have a good tradition of helping each other. China would always lend a hand whenever Sierra Leone was in a crisis. He said China's help would always go along with the national situation and development need of Sierra Leone, and follow the principles of improving its independent development ability and bringing benefit to its people.
Wang said China would like to strengthen cooperation with Sierra Leone in medical and public hygiene sector, as well as other sectors such as agriculture, fishery and infrastructure construction.
Wang also held talks with Sierra Leone's Foreign Minister Samura Kamara. He said the main purpose of his visit to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea is to learn about their progress in fighting against Ebola, and their plans and needs in restructuring economy and society in the post-Ebola period.
Wang also visited the Chinese embassy and met with Chinese medical team and Chinese workers in Sierra Leone.
