Clean water is a must. People around the world are using terracotta clay/ceramic pots to safely filter dirty water for drinking. The filter is not very fast though, so get started at least a few days before your clean water supply runs out.

NOTE: I HAVE NOT TESTED OR DRANK WATER FROM THIS FILTER SYSTEM YET! THE FIRST RUN IS NOT COMPLETE. I WILL TASTE TEST THE WATER FROM THE SECOND RUN AND POST RESULTS. I WILL ALSO NEED TO TEST THIS WATER FOR CONTAMINANTS BEFORE CONFIRMING ITS EFFECTIVENESS.

As the Covid-19 Pandemic continues to ravish the world economy, it's time to start thinking about how we can get what we need to survive should the grocery store run dry.

In this video you will learn how to make your own water filter using a clay pot and a 5 gallon bucket.

According to the site where I learned to build this the pot needs to be soaked in clean water for 8 hours or have 3 full pots of water run through it before use. I did a 12 hour soak and am running a full pot of water through before doing any kind of testing.

I am ordering a kit to test for heavy metals so I can test the water before and after the filtration. Once this is done, I will perform a taste test. Of course I will video this all and upload the results.

NOTE: If it were a survival situation and I needed to drink pond water, I would use this (post soak/initial run) without testing it. However, I am not in that dire of a need so I am waiting on the test kit.

Note: If you can make your own clay pot with sawdust in the clay the filter will work faster than if you use a flower pot from the hardware store.
