Latest NJ/DE Bay Fishing Reports at [ Ссылка ]
New Jersey’s back bay striped bass season officially reopened on Sunday, March 1. Hopefully you weren’t thinking this was going to be a typical season with linesides slow to react to soft baits; in actuality, the mild winter seems to have kept plenty of fish around since the late December closure, with bay, river and creekside stripers already whacking bloods, sandworms and small plugs and plastics.
At least two 28-inch plus stripers have been reported, one in Central Jersey and the other in South Jersey (and that’s without the artificially warm water around Oyster Creek putting fish on the early jig bite!) Warmer temps heading into the weekend ahead and straight through until Tuesday should have more casters searching for suitable night and day locations, with boaters advised to call the marina a bit earlier than normal with an eye on a possible pre-spring launch (March equinox occurs on the 20th of this month.) The first reported flounder of the 2020 season also comes by way of Shark River this week.
Another busy show weekend ahead in the tri-state region; get the full rundown on fish and fishing shows exclusively in this week’s full forecast video for New Jersey, Delaware Bay.
